ASC Scholarship
Thanks to your support, the Austin Seminole Club continues to grow and generate support for the Seminoles in Central Texas. In 2003 the club began offering a $500 scholarship to a high school senior residing in the Greater Austin area that has been accepted to Florida State University.
2005 Scholarship Winner
Hannah
Christian is a graduate of Austin High School and our 2005 ASC Scholarship
winner. She ranked in the top 20% of her class with a cumulative grade
point average of 3.67 on a 4 point scale. She was involved in many extra
curricular activities including cheerleading, dance team, community service
through her church (traveled to Honduras, Chicago, and Brownsville to
help underprivileged youth) as well as working part time. Hannah is an
outstanding Central Texan that will undoubtedly be very successful at
FSU and we welcome her into our Seminole family.
2003 Scholarship Winner
On
August 9, 2003, Ms. Jolvan Morris became the recipient of the first annual
Austin Seminole Club Scholarship. Jolvan graduated from LC Anderson High
School #109 in her class of 451. She was a Varsity Softball player with
a .402 batting average winning the Outstanding Offensive Player award
for the last two years at Anderson. Jolvan wants to be veterinarian and
is attending Florida State with the intent to attend a post-graduate veterinarian
school in Florida after she graduates.
Jolvan is an exceptional student/athlete and is an ideal recipient for this award. All members of the Austin Seminole Club should take great pride in knowing that you are supporting this bright and talented student in her experience at Florida State.
Scholarship Details
To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must:
- be eligible for a standard diploma from an accredited Bastrop, Burnett, Hays, Travis or Williamson County high school
- have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- demonstrate community and school involvement and participation including athletics, student governance, journalism, service organizations, music, drama, etc.
